The beauty of oil painting is that it comes with so much grace. Oil paint takes days to dry, the first few days the oil paint moves easily around the canvas, by the third or forth day the oil paint begins to dry, becoming sticky. Taking time to pause in between painting sessions isn’t just recommended, it’s encouraged. Oil paints are great for busy seasons, when the desire to create is there, but life moves and our attention is needed elsewhere. We pause. May we take time to still our minds and stir our hearts. Expressing what has been held in, may we move, create, and allow our hearts to speak.

Come into the studio, take a deep breath, grab your supplies and let’s begin.

Lets dream of what you want to create; It may be a place you have visited that filled you with peace, or a scene that inspired you. Let’s sketch it out, blend the colors and transfer it onto a canvas.

Supplies You Might Need

Wear clothes that you don't mind getting paint on, I use an apron.
Two jars, one for oil and one to clean dirty brushes.
A disposable paint palette or glass from an old picture frame (be careful with those edges).

Walnut Oil or olive oil from your kitchen.

This is a 10 minute class covering all you need to create a beautiful oil painting. It is created to be paused a lot through out the class so that you can take notes and soak in the information. You will also have access to the transcript notes below the video to look back on.
